Revival

Haven't used this blog in about two years, so to give it purpose I'll be using my WNM class as an excuse to start posting my projects and random sketches again alongside my required postings for that class. :)

Here's my other blog link in case I forget tdwritingfornewmedia.wordpress.com

Hiatus Dump Before Fall 2012 Starts

I told myself I'd update this regularly with my antics but I try to stay away from the computer as much as I can. I find that a lot of my work that I make during the school period are rehashes/edits of things I've scribbled and dabbled in during my breaks from school. Since I've neglected this blog I will dump a bunch of doodles and doodads and other junk from this long summer break that I'll look upon later to make greater as classes go by starting this Tuesday

I remember posting something about a stone giant last I was here. I slowly took a marker to a stretch of poster paper on my wall over the course of about a month whenever I felt like feeling ink. Rocks are really fun to make in black and white. Definitely gonna redo this on my tablet sometime soon.

Doodle night at my bros house. Thought of interesting animals to draw but I really want to make the elephant into a logo/symbol/emblem/tattoo. I tried tribal tatting the elephant with an ouroboros on its' trunk. thought it looked okay. Didin't really like the banners on the bottom just exploring emblem options.

Disney & Pixar's Brave came out this summer. Went to go see it with my lovely girlfriend. I really didn't know anything about the movie before hand and ended up really enjoying it. However what I really wanted to draw was the pixar short before the movie, La Luna. Those 8 minutes touched the inner child in me that still believes in magic like nothing else I've seen before. This was me while I was working on my tribute to it. First time I ever did a starry sky and I have to say it's a delicate and fun process.

These doodles (except for the one on left on the edge) were made by a friend of mines in my sketchbook. I enjoy her style even though I detest crayons. She's very clean when she draws.

Lazily done Marceline. I really enjoy the episode from which I drew her. I'll redo this when I'm more motivated, which will probably be when she reappears in the series since she hasn't made an appearance since the nightosphere episode :c

I asked for drawing suggestions which I'm currently working on, and the first one that I found interesting enough to take on was a "Unicorn with a mini-gun on it's forehead." And here is the result done in about an hour. I feel like making many other drawing to this idea. The visions just exploded in my mind when I read that response. Expect more of these majestic killers.

NON-DRAWING RELATED CONTENT

If anyone didn't know I love my skateboards. I don't have the funds for highend longboard gear yet but I don't really need it anyway. This board here was $40 at the swap meet. It's super old but the deck is in great shape. The graphic looks horrible though which I plan to redo. The shape of the board makes it really fun to play with but it's not so great with commuting, so I'll stick with my usual drop-through when I go back to school.

Also If anyone didn't know I love making music. It's a full body experience that I just can't find in anything else. Anyway, I got a strat back in 8th grade as a gift and never stopped playing guitar since. Got a great acoustic guitar from my cousin who doesn't really know how to play it about halfway through highschool. Now this guitar here is the only one I bought with my own money and it's pretty amazing despite the work I had to put into its problems. I bought it at this store that opened up in my town not too far from where I live. The shop owner was cool and this traveler guitar was actually his that he never uses anymore. When I brought it home and took off the strings too put new ones, the nut broke (the grooves at the bottom of the head). I looked up the price of replacing it and... I really didn't wanna spend another $40-60 on something I just bought, so I made my own out of pvc pipe. I felt like a genius. Yay for new toys :D That's it for this post. More logs during school since classes breed doodles.

the howling soul

My fur was actually pretty cool after not looking at this for a few days. What was really bothering me was the color.

Be prepared for some fashionable sketches, adventure time fanart of marceline, and a stone giant.

into the howling soul

School’s out. Finally did my audition on Wednesday and got accepted into my university’s select choir ensemble, which includes a scholarship for half my tuition! Now I’m free to open the floodgates of my repressed drawing urges that have built up from the past four months of classes, starting with the ancestor of our oldest friend

fur…how does it work?!?! TAT
Mind the lovely thing in the corner
